HEALTHY CHOCOLATE ‘NUTELLA’ SPREAD
Can I just say WOW!? I can’t tell you guys how much I love chocolate! I’m sure I have some Nutella fans out there….actually I know (hehe). Let’s be honest, Nutella is high in sugar, semi-artificial and really not healthy for you at all! If you’re looking for a delicious and healthy chocolate spread, you’re going to love this! You can thank me later 🙂
How to Make the Chocolate Healthy ‘Nutella’ Spread
Yield: approx. 1.5 cups
Prep Time: 10 min
Cook Time: 10 min
Total Time: 20 min
Ingredients:
1/2 cup raw hazelnuts
1/3 cup raw cacao
1/4 cup hemp seeds
1/4 cup of ghee or coconut oil
4 tbsp organic maple syrup
1/3 cup soy milk
2 tbsp raw honey
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp salt
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 F/ 180 C. Place the hazelnuts onto a cookie sheet with baking paper underneath and bake for 7-10 minutes, until lightly golden and fragrant, stirring once halfway.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool (not like me). Then pickup handfuls at a time and rub firmly between the palms of your hands so the skin falls off. You can also rub them in a clean kitchen cloth.
- Place the peeled hazelnuts and the remaining ingredients in a high speed blender or food processor for at least 5 minutes stopping occasionally to scrape down the sides. I like a little crunch to my spread but you can make it as thin as you want!
- Store in an airtight jar in the fridge. Enjoy!
